Biden Helps California Move Closer to Cannabis Cafes

FROM POLITICO -  President Joe Biden's administration is supporting California's move to establish cannabis cafes similar to those in Amsterdam. This initiative is part of a broader effort to relax federal cannabis restrictions. The Biden administration's stance is seen as pivotal in encouraging states like California to advance their cannabis policies, including the development of venues where adults can consume cannabis products while enjoying food and entertainment. California lawmakers are optimistic that this federal support will bolster their legislative efforts to implement these cafes​

Cannabis Operators Cansortium and RIV Capital are Merging

FROM MJBIZDAILY -  Cansortium, a Florida-based cannabis operator, is merging with RIV Capital, which owns New York’s Etain Health. RIV shareholders will receive 1.245 shares of Cansortium per RIV share. Post-merger, Cansortium shareholders will own 51.25% of the combined entity, with RIV and Hawthorne Collective holding the remaining 48.75%. The combined company will manage eight cultivation and processing facilities and 42 stores across Florida, New York, Pennsylvania, and Texas. The merger aims to enhance operational efficiencies and financial growth​

Delaware: Governor Signs Medical Cannabis Expansion Bill Into Law

The new law allows physicians to recommend medical cannabis to any patient they deem could benefit, regardless of specific qualifying conditions. Additionally, individuals 65 and older can self-certify for a registration card without a doctor’s recommendation. The law also permits out-of-state registered patients to access Delaware dispensaries. This legislation aims to enhance patient access to medical cannabis by removing previous restrictions determined by lawmakers rather than health professionals.
